OUR STORY
BCC Homes (formerly Barnett Construction Co.) first started in 2010. We were just a small carpentry gang working for different builders on new home construction projects in NSW and Southeast Queensland. We grew from our small crew of 3 men on the ground to an overall group of about 8-separate gangs working across all of SEQ. That was our bread-and-butter journey.
The next venture came when we joined forces and formed a family building company that specialised in investment homes, particularly dual-dwellings and high-end waterfront properties – a polarising work set, yet an enlightening, rapid-growth journey. Under this business banner, Sam built 1200 homes under his licence and became respected in his field as an expert in all types of home construction. That was our growth journey.
Throughout the last decade and a half, we focused on bathroom and kitchen renovations for friends, family, friends-of-friends, neighbours, teachers at the kids school, etc. all word of mouth, all jobs leading to more referrals. What we enjoyed most about this type of work, was the creative outlet it offered, guiding clients who often didn't know what they wanted, and the quick turnaround for clients that added value to their homes. That was our creative journey.
Finally, as our story seems to go, we find ourselves leaning into a change in the marketplace as we get pulled into a new venture; Granny Flat construction. This space is exciting as the concept is currently undergoing a complete revamp as a tool for passive-income generation and a wealth creation strategy used by homeowners across SEQ. This is our current journey.
