BCC Homes: Award-Winning Granny Flat Builders for 2025

From growing our team to helping families achieve their property dreams, 2025 has been a year we'll never forget. Here's a look back at what made this year so special. 

This year we moved into our brand new office! It's been amazing to have a dedicated space where our team can collaborate, plan and bring our clients' visions to life. It's more than just bricks and mortar, it's a symbol of how far we've come and how much we've grown as a business. 

Walking into our new space each day reminds us of the journey we've been on and energizes us for the work ahead. It's the perfect home base for our growing BCC Family. 

Speaking of growth—our team. It goes without saying, but we love the BCC Family that we've created and are so grateful that we get to work alongside these incredible people each and every day. 

We’ve welcomed some wonderful new faces to the team this year and we’re so proud of the BCC Family we’ve built. Each team member is incredibly knowledgeable in their field, and we know it takes a village and we absolutely love ours. They're the heart of everything we do at BCC Homes. 

Earlier this year, we found ourselves at the National Housing Industry Association (HIA) Awards in Melbourne. After winning the Queensland HIA 'Start Up Business' Award late last year, we were invited to the National Awards and were honoured to take out the Runner Up spot for 'Start Up Business' nationally. 

It cemented our belief that we're heading in the right direction and what's even better is that it's not only by doing our passion, but we get to help so many local families. Whether it's helping Mum and Dad stay closer to their kids, helping young people get onto the property ladder, or building generational wealth, every story is one that we get to be a part of. 

Off the back of the HIA Awards, we were thrilled to be featured in HIA Magazine with a write-up about BCC Homes. It included a brief insight into our family and journey, our approach to custom Granny Flats, and what drives us as a business. Being recognised in this way was an incredible honour and a reminder of why we do what we do. 

Sustainability has always been important to us, and this year we're proud to say we've achieved over 8-star energy efficiency on our slab-on-ground designs and easily attained 7-star energy ratings on pole homes. Our commitment to being further educated in energy efficiency wasn’t just about ticking boxes, it was about being able to build homes that are better for our clients and better for the environment. 

This achievement reflects our dedication to quality and innovation, ensuring every home we build is designed with the future in mind. 

While awards and recognition are wonderful, the wins that mean the most to us are always the ones that involve our clients. 

This year, we signed off on 29 jobs and we've helped 3 young people get into their first home in the midst of a housing affordability crisis—which is something we're incredibly proud to be a part of. 

We also celebrated our first repeat client, which was such a rewarding moment for us. When someone trusts us enough to come back and build with us again, we know we're on the right path. 

And here’s a particularly special one; this year marked a milestone for us - the very first baby born in a BCC Homes Granny Flat. One of our clients became grandparents when their daughter, Taylor, moved into her Granny Flat and later discovered she was pregnant. She welcomed her baby while living there, with her parents in the main home, allowing three generations to live close together during such a special chapter of life. Moments like these remind us that we’re not just building structures, we’re creating homes that support family, connection and life’s biggest moments, and spaces where memories are truly made. 

On top of that, we've continued to receive more 5-star reviews from happy clients, which means the world to us. Every review is a reflection of the trust our clients place in us, and we're grateful for each and every one. 

Traditionally, December can be a quieter period in construction, but this year we experienced the opposite. Leading into the end of the year, we saw an increase in enquiries, commitments and signed jobs, which was incredibly encouraging. This momentum reinforced the growing demand for high-quality, custom Granny Flats and, most importantly, the trust clients continue to place in BCC Homes; something we are truly grateful for and excited to carry into the year ahead. 

As we close out 2025, we're filled with gratitude for the clients who trusted us, the team who made it all possible, and the milestones we've achieved together. We're looking forward to carrying this momentum into the new year and continuing to help more families turn their property dreams into reality.
