We're Finalists! BCC Homes Named in the 2026 HIA Gold Coast & Northern Rivers Housing Awards

We’re excited to share that BCC Homes has officially been named a finalist in the 2026 HIA Gold Coast & Northern Rivers Housing Awards, with five of our projects recognised in the Specialised Housing category. On top of that, we also entered the Innovation in Housing category, adding to a fantastic year of entries for our team.

When the email landed in our inbox confirming the results, it's safe to say there were some celebrations around the office. Being named a finalist isn't just a tick in a box for us, it's recognition of the hundreds of small decisions, problem-solving sessions and genuine care that go into every single Granny Flat we build.

This achievement belongs to every single person in the BCC Homes team. From our foremen on site managing the day-to-day details, to our office team coordinating approvals and keeping our clients informed every step of the way, this is a true team effort. We're incredibly proud of the calibre of homes we've been able to deliver, and even prouder that the industry thinks so too. 

Our finalist entries this year all sit within the Specialised Housing category, which recognises projects that go beyond a standard build to solve a real problem for a real family. That's the heart of what we do every day. Whether it's helping aging parents stay close to their children, giving young adults an affordable pathway onto the property ladder, or creating additional income through a secondary dwelling, every Granny Flat we build is designed around the people who will live in it.

One of our finalist projects, our Maudsland Granny Flat, is a beautiful example of this in action. Built for Nicola and her mum, the project delivered independence and connection in equal measure, giving them a home that felt stylish, spacious and full of personality rather than just a secondary dwelling. Being recognised across five entries in this category tells us that this thoughtful, people-first approach to design and construction is exactly the direction we should keep building in (pun absolutely intended).

Celebrating the Industry's Best

The 2026 HIA Gold Coast & Northern Rivers Housing Awards will take place on Friday 18 September 2026, where the category winners will be announced. It's always a special night, bringing together builders, trades and industry leaders from across the region to celebrate the best in residential construction.

Regardless of the final results on the night, simply being named a finalist among such strong competition is something we don't take for granted. The calibre of entries this year was, by all accounts, exceptional, which makes this recognition all the more meaningful.
